Fee Sharing

The launch's side of the fee, divided among up to ten recipients that add up to 100%.

A launch does not have to pay its fees to its creator. It can pay them to anyone, to several people at once, to a person who has never heard of this product, to its own holders, or to nobody at all — by spending them buying its own supply and destroying it.

The recipient types

TypeWhere the money goes
WalletA GIWA address, credited a balance it can withdraw whenever it likes.
X handleAn address derived from the handle itself, claimable by whoever proves they own the account.
GitHub handleThe same, for a GitHub username.
BurnBuys the launch’s own token inside each trade and destroys it.
DividendPaid out to holders of at least 10,000 tokens. See Dividends.

Up to ten slots per launch, and their shares must total exactly 100%. On the create screen the creator’s own row absorbs whatever the others leave, so the total is always correct without any arithmetic on your part.

Paying a handle

On chain, a recipient is an address — the chain has no idea what a social handle is. So a handle’s address is derived from the handle itself, by a hash. No lookup, no wallet provider, no account created in advance: x:someone has an address whether or not anyone has ever asked for it, and fees accrue there from the launch’s first trade.

Collecting it is a sign-in. The owner signs in with that account, we attest once that they control it, and the contract records the owner from then on. After that the attestation is never needed again — payouts go to the recorded owner with no signature from us at all, so losing our attestor key cannot strand a handle that has already been claimed.

A mistyped handle is money you cannot recover. The address comes from the characters you typed, so it accrues to whoever owns the handle you actually typed. And because it follows the handle rather than the person, a handle that is renamed, sold or taken over takes its future fees with it.

Burn

Burn is a purchase, not a bookkeeping entry. The burn slot’s share of the fee is spent buying the launch’s own token and the tokens go to an address nobody holds the key to.

On the curve this happens inside the same trade: the burn money rides into the curve alongside the buyer’s, at the price that trade is paying. There is no second transaction, no interval to be front-run, and no slippage guard to get wrong. The trader is untouched — they receive exactly what their own money buys, and burn takes the marginal tokens the extra buys on top.

Near the graduation boundary, burn is what gives way: the trader’s side is what was quoted, so if only one of the two still fits, theirs fills.

After graduation the hook destroys the launch-token side of what it collects directly, which is the same outcome reached without a purchase.

Fees are not paid out trade by trade

Splitting across ten recipients on every trade would make the cost of trading a launch depend on how many people its creator chose to pay. So fees accumulate, and settlement is a separate, permissionless step that anyone can trigger. See Earnings and claims.
