Launching a token
One transaction deploys the token, opens its curve, records its split, and optionally buys the first of it.
What you choose
| Field | What it does | Changeable later |
|---|---|---|
| Fee mode | Non-tax, a flat 0.5% to you, or Tax, where you set the rates. | No |
| Name and ticker | Written into the token contract at deployment. | No |
| Image, description, links | The image is stored on IPFS and addressed by a hash of its own bytes; the description and links are held in our database. Neither is on chain — a contract that could edit them would cost gas every time somebody fixed a typo. | Yes |
| Pairing asset | What the launch trades against and pays its fees in. | No |
| Buy and sell tax | Tax launches only. Buy 0–10%, sell 0.5–10%. | No |
| Fee Sharing split | Up to ten recipients totalling 100% of the creator side. | Yes, by the fee admin |
| Creator buy | Your own first purchase, executed in the launch transaction. | n/a |
| Sniper-tax exemptions | Your other wallets, which pay the ordinary rate from the first block. Fixed at launch. | No |
The creator buy
A launch may buy its own token in the same transaction that creates it, at the bottom of the curve, before anybody else can. That is by design — it is how a creator takes a position in what they are launching, and it is visible on chain from the first block.
It cannot be large enough to graduate the launch on its own. A buy that would take the curve past its graduation point is refused outright rather than partially filled, so a launch cannot open and immediately be a pool nobody else got to buy into.
Exemptions from the sniper tax
The opening seconds of a launch are taxed steeply (see Fees). Your own address is exempt automatically, and you may name other wallets at launch that should be too.
The list is fixed when the launch is created and can never be added to. A list that could grow would let a creator watch the opening and then exempt whoever they liked, which is exactly the behaviour the tax exists to price.
Being quoted the terms you launch on
The protocol’s own numbers — its fee, the standard creator rate, the graduation threshold, the creation fee — are settable by us for launches opened afterwards. So the launch transaction carries a fingerprint of the terms you were shown, and reverts if they have moved in between. You cannot be settled onto a rate you did not read.
Once the launch confirms, the rates are copied into it and stay there. A later change to the protocol’s fee reaches new launches only, never yours.
What ends up on chain
- A fixed-supply ERC-20 with permit, deployed at a deterministic address, whose entire supply is minted to the curve. No owner, no mint function, no upgrade path.
- A curve entry recording the pairing asset, the fee mode, the rates, the curve shape and the moment it opened.
- A fee-sharing split, and you as its first fee admin — whether or not any fee is paid to your own address.
- The metadata location, emitted in the launch event so an indexer can find the description and artwork that go with it.
Keep ETH aside for gas. Gas on GIWA is paid in ETH, so a creator buy that spends everything leaves a wallet that cannot sign its next transaction.
